WEAR is a business that specialises in personal styling and image consultancy and this project was effective way to launch this brand
After seeing the looks, my first thought was to find a studio with a colour palette that would compliment the clothing.
I liked this studio because of all the objects in the background, I felt that it gave a bit to life to the content rather than it just being a plain video/photograph. Having a range of objects in the back allows for a layer of depth to the shot.
For the video I wanted to create something similar to Tyler, the Creator's Louis Vuitton collection. The video has this unfinished aspect to it in the way how Tyler is still still making finishing touches and you see him moving around the studio. It's almost as if the audience is there watching to shoot happen.
Because both videos are about styling and fashion, I thought it would be a good thing to reference. I think with the WEAR video, having Fareedah's finishing touches and some of the unedited panning on the second scene and to that "still in progress" aspect.
With the lookbook we wanted to create something similar to Aime Leon Dore lookbooks. That was also a factor in why I liked this studio. I noticed with ALD photos they always their subjects off the wall creating depth behind them. They use neutral poses and I think it helps draw attention to the clothing.
Overall I think we captured and executed the vision well, I think we showed off all the clothing and the got the message across. On the instagram post we did have a caption explaining what Wear actually is just incase things were not clear in the video but I think I did a good job
